In it's Maiden effort to increase the export of services, Malaysia Incorporated Services Bhd (Malaysian Inc) organized the participation of about 20 professional service providers for involvement in a proposed mixed development projects in Uganda. 

A half-day seminar organized by Malaysia External Trade Development Corp (Matrade) saw a presentation by Uganda Minister of State for Urban Development Hon. Musumba Isaac of the planned Kampala Eco-satellite City project and a pitching exercise by the Malaysian service providers.

Uganda was selected by the UN Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) to pilot the first Post 2015 Briefing under the Secretary General's Initiative to inform key planners and thought leaders about the Post 2015 process.

From 19-20 May 2015, Government and the UN in Uganda (with UNDP and the UN Department for Economic & Social Affairs -UNDESA) conducted a 2-day Post 2015 Briefing for participants from 11 UN agencies, 13 Government Ministries, Parliament, Civil Society Organizationsand Development Partners.

South Sudanese refugee numbers hit 40,000

The number of refugees fleeing the raging conflict in South Sudan into Uganda has increased to 40,000.

The Uganda Red Cross and international relief agencies said the number of Sudanese crossing to Uganda daily by road in the West Nile districts of Adjumani and Arua is worrying and has strained available relief support, with a disturbing probability of the current figures reaching 100,000 by February.
