HIGH COMMISSIONER DOROTHY SAMALI HYUHA ENDS TOUR OF DUTY TO MALAYSIA

1.  Farewell luncheon with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia.

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia YB Dato' Kamarudin Jaffar hosted the Out-going High Commissioner Dorothy Samali Hyuha for a farewell luncheon on 29thJune 2022.

In his key note speech, the Deputy Minister noted the enhanced economic, social and political cooperation between Malaysia and the Republic of Uganda. The Deputy Minister recognized the increase in the trade volume between the Countries.

He thanked the Out-going High Commissioner for leading the Mission in the coordination of all the bilateral engagements which fostered the strengthening of people-people relations between the two countries.

The Out-going Head of Mission, thanked the host Government of Malaysia, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Wisma Putra, Private Sector, Agencies, and Departments for providing a conducive working environment and cooperation accorded to her and Mission which contributed to the achievement of the Mission goals during her tour of duty.

She thanked Malaysian Government for opening a consulate in Uganda on 24th September 2019to strengthen diplomatic and trade relations between the two countries.

2.  Fare well to Uganda High Commission Staff.

Handover of office;

The out-going High Commissioner handed over office to the Minister Counsellor, Mr. Kasujja Moses Kalule at the Chancery. She thanked the staff for their outstanding efforts and team work towards the performance of Uganda High Commission-Kuala Lumpur and the Government of the Republic of Uganda.

She further thanked the staff for their support and cooperation during her tenure and awarded certificates of recognition.

She requested the staff to accord the In-coming Head of Mission Ambassador Betty Oyella Bigombe the same cooperation.

She appealed to the Staff to be welcoming, open minded, ready to learn and adjust as they prepare to receive the in-coming Head of Mission.

The Staff thanked the out-going Head of Mission for her exemplary leadership, support and motherly spirit which she accorded to them during her tour of duty and wished her success. 

The Mission hosted a Farewell luncheon in honour of the out-going High Commissioner at the Marriot Hotel, Putrajaya which was attended by representatives of Ugandans in Diaspora.

3.  Fare well to the Ugandan Diaspora in Malaysia and other areas of accreditation.

The High Commissioner recognized and appreciated the support of the Ugandan Diaspora in Malaysia and other areas of accreditation for their support, cooperation, patriotism towards Uganda High Commission Kuala Lumpur and the Government of Uganda in mobilizing investors and resources back home.

Remarks by the Diaspora;

The Ugandan Diaspora led by Al Haji Habib Kagimu and Ugandan Associate Professors and students highly appreciated the out-going High Commissioner for her visionary leadership, a spirit of Patriotism to the Government of Uganda, Wisdom, Experience, Humility and Integrity with which she has led the Mission.  

The Ugandan Diaspora appreciated the Out-going High Commissioner for spearheading there location of the Chancery to a more spacious area in Kuala Lumpur with a more conducive environment which has greatly enhanced the image of Uganda in Malaysia.

She was commended for building institutional capacity at the Mission that provides timely consular services to Ugandans abroad in Malaysia and other areas of accreditation.  

4.  Fare well to business community in Malaysia.

The Out-going Head of Mission was hosted to a farewell dinner by the Business Community in Malaysia, 28th June 2022. The Business community included representatives from Perak-Malay Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Taaveekuni Manufacturing SDN. BHD. 

The Out-going Head of Mission thanked the Business Community for support and cooperation accorded to her and the Mission in fostering the establishment of bilateral relations between the Business community in Uganda and Malaysia.

She requested the Business community to continue working with the Mission to enhance and strengthen the established relations.

The Business community appreciated the Head of Mission for her cooperation and coordination of all the programmes that fostered the establishment of business relations between the Business Community in Malaysia and Uganda. The Business community pledged to continue working with the Mission to strengthen the established relations.
