UGANDA EMBASSY PARTICIPATES IN COLOURS OF AFRICA DAY 2024 IN BANGKOK
From September 9th to 11th, 2024, the Uganda Embassy in Kuala Lumpur proudly joined fellow African embassies in Bangkok for the Colours of Africa Day 2024, held at Eden 1, Central World Bangkok under the theme “Thailand- Africa: Opportunity, Friendship, and Cooperation.” Organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, this dynamic event was a collaboration between 12 African embassies accredited to Thailand, including Uganda and various public and private sector partners.
The Colours of Africa Day 2024 offered an array of engaging activities:
-Quiz on African Geography: Participants tested their knowledge of Africa’s diverse landscape and history.
-Cultural Performances: Attendees were treated to stunning fashion shows, traditional dances, and vibrant music performances representing the unique cultures of Africa.
-Exhibitions: African embassies, including Uganda, and businesses showcasing the continent’s rich cultural heritage, investment opportunities, and tourism destinations.
-Student Competitions: Competitions such as quizzes and English speech contests featured themes like “Africa in My Imagination” and “Africa: Land of Opportunities.”
-Exciting Prizes: Attendees had the chance to win trips to Africa, sponsored by Kenya Airways, Ethiopian Airlines, and Minor Hotels Group.
The Uganda Embassy’s presence highlighted the country’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with Thailand, promoting Uganda’s culture, and encouraging trade and tourism opportunities.
The event provided a valuable platform for fostering deeper connections between Africa and Thailand through mutual understanding, partnership, and cooperation.
