TOUR OPERATORS AND JOURNALISTS FROM ASEAN REGION EXPLORE THE WONDERS OF UGANDA
Kampala, Uganda – 26th November 2024 – A delegation of prominent tour operators and journalists from the ASEAN region arrived in Uganda on 25th November 2024 for a familiarization trip aimed at promoting Uganda’s rich cultural heritage, diverse wildlife, and stunning landscapes. This initiative was organized by the Uganda High Commission in Kuala Lumpur in collaboration with the Uganda Tourism Board.
Upon arrival, the visitors were warmly welcomed by Mr. Kasujja Moses Kalule, Minister Counsellor at the Uganda High Commission in Malaysia. In his address, Mr. Kalule highlighted Uganda’s unique offerings, from its iconic mountain gorillas to the tranquil beauty of Lake Victoria, and encouraged the delegation to experience the warmth and hospitality of the Ugandan people.
“This familiarization trip is a fantastic opportunity for our guests from the ASEAN region to immerse themselves in the true essence of Uganda,” Mr. Kalule stated. “We believe that the experiences they gain here will enable them to promote Uganda as a premier travel destination in their respective markets.”
During their week-long stay, the delegation will embark on a series of curated tours across various attractions, including the Murchison Falls National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park, and the cultural hotspots in the capital city, Kampala. The tour aims to showcase Uganda’s biodiversity, cultural richness, and tourism investment opportunities.
The Uganda Tourism Board remains committed to enhancing collaboration with international partners to increase awareness of Uganda as an ideal destination for adventure, ecotourism, and cultural experiences.
“We are excited to host this esteemed group of tour operators and journalists from Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam, who play a crucial role in shaping travel trends and influencing tourist choices,” said a spokesperson for the Uganda Tourism Board. “Their firsthand experiences will help to create authentic narratives that highlight the beauty and diversity of our country.”
The familiarization trip is set to conclude on 7th December 2024, with the delegation expected to share their insights and experiences across various media platforms and travel agencies upon their return.
