Today Friday, 11th April 2025, H.E. Dr. Betty Oyella Bigombe, Ambassador of the Republic of Uganda to Malaysia, received a courtesy call from Hon. Sylvester Wanjuzi Wasieba, Board Chairman of the National Housing and Construction Company Limited (NHCCL), Uganda. Hon. Wanjuzi was accompanied by two staff members from the company.

During the cordial engagement, Ambassador Bigombe briefed the visiting delegation on the upcoming Pearl of Africa Business and Expo 2025 scheduled to take place on 23rd and 24th April 2025 at the Renaissance Kuala Lumpur Hotel and Convention Centre. The event, organized by the Uganda High Commission in Kuala Lumpur, is designed to showcase Uganda’s investment potential in key sectors including housing and construction, tourism, ICT, agriculture, real estate, and manufacturing.

Her Excellency informed Hon. Wanjuzi that a formal invitation had been extended to NHCCL to participate in the Expo and engage with Malaysian and regional investors in the construction and real estate development sector. She emphasized that the Expo provides a strategic platform for NHCCL to market investment-ready housing projects, forge partnerships, and explore opportunities for technology transfer and financing.

Hon. Wanjuzi appreciated the briefing and welcomed the initiative, affirming NHCCL’s commitment to represent Uganda’s housing sector at the Expo. The meeting concluded with both parties expressing mutual interest in deepening collaboration in support of Uganda’s national development goals through diaspora and foreign direct investments.
