This morning 22nd April 2025, H.E. Dr. Betty Oyella Bigombe, High Commissioner of the Republic of Uganda to Malaysia, held a crucial meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in Kuala Lumpur to discuss the urgent matter of repatriating over 50 Ugandan nationals currently stranded in Myanmar.

Today Friday, 11th April 2025, H.E. Dr. Betty Oyella Bigombe, Ambassador of the Republic of Uganda to Malaysia, received a courtesy call from Hon. Sylvester Wanjuzi Wasieba, Board Chairman of the National Housing and Construction Company Limited (NHCCL), Uganda. Hon. Wanjuzi was accompanied by two staff members from the company.
Today 10th April 2024, a delegation from AMBANI Consortium Group (M) Sdn. Bhd., led by Dr. Sly, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Dr. Betty Bigombe to provide an update on their confirmed participation in the upcoming Uganda Pearl of Africa Business and Tourism Expo, scheduled to take place on 23rd and 24th April 2025 at the Renaissance Kuala Lumpur Hotel & Convention Centre.

On Saturday 29th March 2025, the Royal Thai Armed Forces hosted a working lunch in honour of Her Excellency Dr. Betty Oyella Bigombe, Ambassador of the Republic of Uganda to the Kingdom of Thailand (resident in Kuala Lumpur), at the Marriott Hotel, Bangkok. The luncheon served as a platform to strengthen bilateral cooperation and deepen defence and security relations between Uganda and Thailand, with a particular focus on border affairs, regional security, intelligence collaboration, and combat transnational crimes such as human trafficking and smuggling.
The Uganda Embassy in Kuala Lumpur remains steadfast in its duty to safeguard its nationals and will continue to work with Thai and regional authorities until all affected Ugandans are safely returned home.
